What intangible quality is it that defines a man?  Does starring on your high school football team make you a man?  Are you a man if you can bench press more than your friends?

Yes.  And, as a former football star who can bench press more than all his friends, it’s only natural and necessary that you have a man cave to dwell in, a rugged place where you can gather all your buddies to beat them in pool and bench press more than them.

Get ready to break out the Dominican bundle cigars and light them up because you are about to learn how to build your man cave.

1.  Pick a place.

Any space with a door that closes and enough room for some furniture and a few peeps is fine.

2.  Choose a theme.

Some guys like to have a theme in their man cave – Marvel Comics, Call of Duty, NFL.  Personally, I believe man cave to be a theme.

3.  Furnish the man cave.

You’ll want a couch and some comfortable chairs or bar stools (oh yeah, you’ll want a bar too).  My buddy has a big beanbag chair in his man cave, which I spend a lot of time on (more than he would like).  I also recommend a fridge (for beer).   Cover the walls with posters of scenes from your favorite manly movies, like Goodfellas or The Godfather.  In the spirit of those spiffy wise guys, a box of cigars with a Rocky Patel 15th Ann. Torpedo 5 Pack Cigar for each of your buddies would be awesome.

4.  Put fun stuff in the man cave.

You need a bar in there – did we cover that already?  Well, you need a bar in there.  Other basics include a flat screen TV, video games, DVD player, pool table, and some weights.

Any other personal touches are welcome.  Now all you have to do is invite the guys over and retreat into the cave for a few stress-free hours of chillaxin.
